SUMMER SERIES: The Liberty and Sun will square off five times this summer, with New York hosting three of those match-ups ... The first game will take place at Mohegan Sun on June 4th at 7:30 PM ... The Sun captured the all-time season series advantage (19-17) last season after topping the Liberty 3-1 in the season series ... New York is 10-9 all-time in the regular season when playing the role of host to its Conference rival.

LAST TIME AROUND: The last time these two clubs met, Connecticut beat New York, 89-85 in overtime on September 4, 2009 at Mohegan Sun ... Shameka Christon netted a team-high 22 points in the final regular season series meeting ... The loss in that game eliminated the Liberty from playoff contention.

DAYTIME DRAMA: New York's pre-season schedule featured two matinee match-ups against Eastern Conference rivals ... Prior to today's game, the Liberty faced off against the Washington Mystics at the Verizon Center on May 5 ... New York fell 60-65, despite a double- double performance from Taj McWilliams-Franklin.

ENTER CAPPIE: Cappie Pondexter, acquired via trade on March 30, arrived in Liberty Training Camp on May 8 fresh off a Russian League title win ... Pondexter owns a 19.2 ppg and 4.1 apg career average ... She finished the 2009 season ranked as the WNBA's No. 4 leading scorer and No. 3 assists leader.

OVER THE LIMIT: In the final two match-ups between the Liberty and Sun last season, each game was sent into overtime ... Before the 2009 season, they had never gone into overtime in the all-time series history ... Each team won an overtime game on its home court, with New York capturing victory on August 21st at The Garden and Connecticut scoring the win on September 4th at Mohegan Sun.

CHAMPIONSHIP MENTALITY: Prior to the 2010 season, the Liberty has only carried one player on its all-time roster with a WNBA Championship ring ... That player was Barbara Farris in 2006-2007, who won the title with Detroit in 2003 ... This season, New York has three players in Cappie Pondexter, Taj McWilliams-Franklin & Nicole Powell with four WNBA Championship rings amongst them ...
