Liberty Begin 2019 Preseason At Barclays Center Hosting The Chinese Women's National Team

NEW YORK, NY- The first look at the 2019 New York Liberty team will come on Thursday, May 9 at 7 p.m. Eastern Time, when the Liberty host the Chinese Women's National Team, also marking the first time the Liberty will play on its new home court at the Barclays Center.

The Liberty's Brooklyn debut, which will air on ESPNews, will be a thrilling showcase of the best women's basketball talent in the world. The team's ownership has organized this game to further people-to-people exchange between China and the United States, and support female athletes globally.

The May 9 matchup will be presented in part by Resorts World Casino New York City, a long-time partner of the Liberty.

Hosting the Chinese Women's National Team is a pivotal moment in the franchise's history. This historic exhibition builds on the strong ties between the NBA, WNBA and the Chinese Basketball Association, which all have a long history of working together to grow the game of basketball in China.

New York returns to preseason action on May 13 and 14 when the team will participate in a two-day event hosted by the Connecticut Sun at Mohegan Sun Arena.

The Liberty will close out the 2019 preseason in Albany, NY, with a matchup against the Sun on May 19 at 2:30 p.m. Eastern Time at the Times Union Center.
