In rather peculiar fashion, the IronPigs open the 2016 season as the "road team" at Coca-Cola Park with a doubleheader against the Syracuse Chiefs -- whose field, NBT Bank Stadium, was deemed not playable due to field conditions. As a result, the scheduled four-game series in Syracuse has been shrunk to just these two games to be played today in Allentown. The make-up dates for the other two games are yet to be determined... In their exhibition game on Tuesday, the Pigs dropped the 8th Annual "222 Showcase" to the Double-A Reading Fightin' Phils, 5-3... The Chiefs -- Washington's top affiliate -- finished in fourth place with a 66-78 record a year ago... The Pigs return to action Monday on the road with Game 1 of a four-game series against the Rochester Red Wings.

In Game 1, RHP Jake Thompson (11-7, 3.73 in 2015) will make his Triple-A debut against RHP A.J. Cole (5-6, 3.15 in IL in 2015).

In Game 2, LHP Adam Morgan (0-6, 4.74 in IL in 2015) will start for LHV against RHP Taylor Jordan (5-6, 2.95 in IL in 2015).

First-Pitch is at 11:05 a.m. However, the game is closed to the public as CCP as preparations for Opening Day are still underway.
