INDIANAPOLIS -- Left-hander Tom Gorzelanny allowed just one run over five innings, while Indianapolis pounded out five runs on seven hits in the bottom of the fourth en route to a 10-2 win over Syracuse in front of 13,394 Friday night at Victory Field.

The Indians improve to 51-56 overall and 28-28 at home, while the Chiefs fall to 51-54 on the season and 26-26 on the road. The Tribe has now won four in a row for the first time since taking five straight from April 11-15.

Gorzelanny (5.0 IP, 5 H, 1 R, 1 ER, 0 BB, 2 SO) needed just 60 pitches to pick up his first Triple-A win this season. The 26-year-old, who moves to 1-1 in three starts for Indianapolis, went 6-5 with a 2.35 ERA in 16 starts for the Tribe in 2006.

Seven of the first eight Indianapolis hitters recorded a base knock in the pivotal fourth inning. 1B Ryan Mulhern and SS Brian Bixler roped singles before both runners raced home on RF Matt Kata's double.

2B Josh Wilson, C Michel Hernandez, LF Nyjer Morgan and CF Andrew McCutchen followed with four straight singles to make it 5-1. 3B Neil Walker then capped the inning with a run-scoring fielder's choice.

The Indians added a run in the fifth and three more in the seventh. Wilson brought home Ordaz on a fielder's choice in the fifth, while McCutchen's two-run single and Walker's sacrifice fly plated the Tribe's runs in the seventh.

Walker also knocked in the Indians' first tally with a sacrifice fly in the first.

Every Indianapolis starter recorded at least one hit en route to 15 for the evening. Morgan (3-for-5, 2 R, 1 RBI), McCutchen (2-for-5, 2 RBI), Mulhern (2-for-5, 1 R), Bixler (2-for-5, 1 R) and Kata (2-for-4, 2 R, 2 RBI) all turned in multi-hit efforts.

Four Indians -- Kata, McCutchen, Walker (1-for-3, 3 RBI) and 2B Josh Wilson (1-for-4, 1 R, 2 RBI) -- also knocked in multiple runs.

Syracuse scored its runs in the second and seventh frames. 1B Curtis Thigpen knocked in LF Matt Watson with a double in the second, while 2B Danny Sandoval plated RF Russ Adams with a two-bagger in the seventh.

Watson (2-for-4, 1 R), Thigpen (2-for-4, 1 RBI), Adams (2-for-4, 1 R) and CF Buck Coats (2-for-4) all collected multiple hits for the Chiefs.

Syracuse LHP Bill Murphy (4.0 IP, 11 H, 7 R, 7 ER, 1 BB, 4 SO) took the loss, falling to 5-8 on the season.

The teams continue their four-game set on Saturday at 7 p.m. RHP Jesse Litsch is scheduled to start for Syracuse, while RHP Ty Taubenheim is expected to get the nod for Indianapolis.
