WHITAKER BANK BALLPARK (Lexington, KY) - The Lexington Legends announce today that the team will have an alternate third jersey in 2018. The jersey, playing on past uniforms, will be an inversion of colors from previous seasons.

"It is always exciting when we can add a new jersey to the rotation for the season. Fans will see their hometown team wearing a new jersey on the field incorporating colors that have been central to the Legends brand," said Legends President/CEO Andy Shea.

The Legends have had similar alternate jerseys, but this season the colors will be opposite from years past. 'LEX' will be written across the chest in white, outlined in white and blue. The body of the jersey will be Legends Bluegrass Blue with white piping, outlining the sleeves and chest. The numbers will be visible on the front and back of the jersey in Legends Regal Green, outlined in both white and Legends Bluegrass Blue. The sleeves are also Legends Regal Green with the full secondary Lexington Legends logo on the left sleeve.

The Legends will wear the same hat for all home games in 2018, the world-famous Legends mustache hat, green with the traditional blue mustache across the front. On the road, the Legends will wear a blue hat with a stone-chiseled 'LEX' written in white on the front, in reference to the historic dry stone walls that line many of the roads in the Bluegrass.

The pants will be white with a blue pin stripe on the side of the pants. The belt to accompany the pants will also be blue.

"The identity of the Legends brand has always been an integral part to the overall fan experience of Central Kentuckians coming through the gates of Whitaker Bank Ballpark. When we revitalized our brand in 2013, we were honoring the rich heritage of the region with our Regal Green and Bluegrass Blue color scheme, and this season, fans will see more Bluegrass Blue on the field as we flip our alternate uniform color scheme." said Ty Cobb, Creative Marketing Director. "The new-look alternates, along with our white home uniforms, are made of a lightweight material that has been praised by our players, coaches and the Kansas City Royals, and we cannot wait to showcase them this upcoming season."

The Legends, a Class A affiliate of the Kansas City Royals and member of the South Atlantic League, kickoff the 2018 season at Whitaker Bank Ballpark against the Charleston RiverDogs, an affiliate of the New York Yankees, on Opening Day - April 5, 2018.
