Greensboro Grasshoppers News Release
The Greensboro Grasshoppers are excited to showcase several new and exciting things for the 2018 season, beginning on Thursday, April 5 with gates opening at 6:00 pm and game time set for 7:00 pm.
The season begins with the launch of a Grasshoppers-branded beer on Thirsty Thursday. This year the Hoppers will offer select $2.00 12oz. cans to include our NEW branded beer. "We believe that fans will find our Thursday discounts very popular and our service should be significantly faster," said Grasshoppers President and General Manager Donald Moore. "We will continue to offer discounted draft beers across the board on our Money off Mondays, in addition to $1.00 hotdogs and Pepsi products."
Hoppin' Fun is predominant in the 2018 promotional schedule. This season fans will be treated to a Royal Wedding, Jurassic Park, a Trip to the Moon, Throwback Night to the Greensboro Hornets, and a tribute to What is Love - highlighting the iconic "What is Love" song by Haddaway - celebrating the 25th Anniversary. "Our promotional staff has worked very hard this off-season and has come up with some fun and new themes that I believe our fans will thoroughly enjoy," said Moore.
Greensboro and First National Bank will host the 2018 South Atlantic League All-Star Game on Tuesday June 19. This game showcases some of the finest talent in Minor League Baseball and the first time Greensboro has hosted the event since 2008.

The first 1,000 fans in the ballpark will receive a unique bobblehead of the Royal Couple nodding "I do." One lucky couple will win royal treatment at the game via social media contest.
May 22: Miss Babe Ruth's Bark in the Park - It will be a "paw-sitively" great night on Natty's Hill at Miss Babe Ruth's Bark in the Park, presented by All Pets Considered. Bring your four-legged friends to the ballpark as we unleash a fun night out for everyone.
June 3: Jurassic Ballpark - It's a night 65-million years in the making as the Grasshoppers host Jurassic Ballpark featuring the dinosaurs of Dakota and Friends. Children of all ages will be amazed by the most realistic and interactive dinosaurs since the Cretaceous Period. Arrive early to witness a prehistoric first pitch and see a dinosaur egg hatch during the game.Â
June 8: Superhero Night - They are back and ready to save the day! The first 1,000 fans in the gates will receive a cape drawstring backpack sponsored by PTI Airport and Allegiant Airlines. Plus, one lucky fan won't need Superman's powers to fly to Universal Studios because the Grasshoppers are giving away a special trip courtesy of PTI Airport and Allegiant Airlines. Take pictures with your favorite action heroes and enjoy an outstanding post game fireworks show.
June 27: Miss LouLou Gehrig's Bark in the Park - LouLou invites all of her canine friends to join her on Natty's Hill for the Grasshoppers game! Dogs are welcome to bring their humans to the game (and please keep them on leashes) with special seating in the outfield lawn! LouLou's Bark in the Park is sponsored by the Greensboro Science Center.
June 28: Trip to the Moon - 3, 2, 1.... BLAST OFF! Elon Musk launched the Falcon to the moon, Richard Branson is planning a trip to the moon, and so are Hoppers with special lunar-themed giveaways all game long. Fans can enter to win a $100 giftcard to Full Moon Oyster Bar, and one lucky fan will win the night's grand prize: a year's supply of MoonPies.
June 29: Princess in the Park Night - It's the most magical night of the season as the Grasshoppers invite children to Princess in the Park Night featuring a special giveaway where one lucky fan will win a trip to DisneyWorld courtesy of PTI Airport and Allegiant Airlines. Plus, enter our princess dress up contest on social media for a chance to be the "Princess of the Game" and ride on a carriage into the ballpark.
July 4: Stars and Stripes Spectacular - Celebrate American Independence with baseball and the best post-game fireworks in town - sponsored by Tanger Outlets. Wear your red, white, and blue while you enjoy America's Pastime on America's birthday when the Grasshoppers take on the BlueClaws at 7pm.
July 5: Throwback Night: Salute to the Greensboro Hornets - The Grasshoppers will have the night off as fans can cheer on the 90's Greensboro Hornets. Players and coaches will wear special throwback jerseys during the game. After the game, the jerseys will be for sale in the Hoppers Yard. Fans come dressed in your 90's best and get ready to do the Macarena!

July 14: What is Love Night - Baby don't hurt me, don't hurt me, no more. It's the 25th Anniversary of the iconic song What is Love by Haddaway. The Grasshoppers are throwing a special celebration featuring not just a musical tribute, but also a way for fans to step back from today's negative climate to enjoy their love of baseball. There will be plenty of turtlenecks, sport coats, and head-bobbles throughout the night. Can you tell us "what is love?" The Hoppers sure can! Keep your eyes & ears peeled for a very unique giveaway this evening!
