Lethbridge Deals for Inglis

Tri-City Americans News Release

KENNEWICK, WA - Tri-City Americans general manager Bob Tory announced today that the hockey club has traded 19-year-old left wing Chris Inglis to the Lethbridge Hurricanes for 17-year-old defenseman Colin Frederickson.

Inglis, a 6'2" 192 lb product of Calgary, Alberta, was a fourth-round selection (62nd overall) of the Americans during the 2003 Bantam Draft. After three full-seasons with Tri-City, Inglis has totaled seven goals, 17 points and 168 penalty minutes. His 2006-07 season numbers included career-highs in both assists (7) and points (8).

"We would like to thank Chris for three solid years with our hockey club. He always gave his best and wore our jersey with pride." said Tory. "With the emergence of many young forwards in our system, it was necessary to open up some ice time for these kids. We wish Chris all the best in Lethbridge."

Frederickson, a 6'2, 205 lb defenseman from Winnipeg, Manitoba, split last season between the Powell River Kings of the British Columbia Hockey League and the Victoria Cougars of the Vancouver Island Junior Hockey League. Last season, he appeared in 34 games between the two clubs, collecting 11 assists and 11 points while notching 72 penalty minutes.

"(Frederickson) is a steady, physical stay-at-home D," said Tory. "Colin is a very good prospect who adds depth to our blue line. He is committed to the WHL, as he spent last year's pre-season with the Hurricanes and played in their season opener."

Frederickson will attend the Americans main training camp set to begin in late August.

Tri-City Americans season ticket plans are now available for the 2007-08 season.
