Lepine Returns to IceMen, Clarke Traded

EVANSVILLE, Ind.- After making an impact with the Ottawa Senators and Binghampton Senators this preseason, Defenseman, Guillame Lepine has returned to the Evansville IceMen, presented by Coors Light.

Lepine returns to Evansville where he played 48 games in 2013-14.The Montreal native scored two goals, and dished out 11 assists. He also compiled 95 penalty minutes and finished +2 on the year.

In addition to Lepine, the IceMen welcomed several new additions to the 2014-15 roster. Danny Hobbs, Ty Wishart and Brandon Wong will all suit up for the IceMen during this weekend's preseason contests.

Danny Hobbs (Forward- Shawville, PQ): Hobbs split time between the Binghamton Senators, and the Elmira Jackals in 2013-14. A Former N.Y. Ranger draft pick, Hobbs scored 17 goals and added 18 assists in 52 games with IceMen Head Coach Mullins in Elmira. With Binghamton, the 25-year-old forward tallied six points in 13 games and finished +5 in the AHL.

Ty Wishart (Defensemen-Belleville, Ont.): The San Jose Sharks selected Wishart in the first round of the 2006 NHL draft, making him the 16th pick overall. Wishart made his NHL debut with the Tampa Bay Lightningon Jan.3, 2009. He played in 20 games for the New York Islanders in 2010-11 posting five points from the blue line. Wishart played in Germany last season recording 16 points in 50 games.

Brandon Wong (Forward-Victoria, BC): Wong enters his fourth ECHL season and first with the IceMen. The 27-year-old played three seasons with the Greenville Road Warriors from 2010-11 to 2012-13. Wong scored a career-best 31 goals and finished with 61 points in the 2011-12 campaign. He reached the 30 assist plateau twice in his career in both 2011-12 and 2012-13.

The IceMen also traded forward Dylan Clarke to Rapid City on Thursday for a player to be named later. Clarke played the past two seasons in Evansville, scoring 29 goals and picking up 37 assists in 89 games. His 29 goals put him in a tie for sixth on the IceMen's all-time leaderboard.

In response to the trade, Clarke tweeted, "Thanks to all the @EvvIceMen organization and fans for the support the last 2 years."

In addition, the IceMen waived Goaltender, Chris Rawlings, and Defenseman, Dustin Hopfner. The team also released Defenseman, Nick Schneider. Schneider played with the IceMen during their CHL days and ranks seventh all-time with 103 games played.

The IceMen will now travel to Fort Wayne for a pair of preseason games against the rival Komets on Friday and Saturday. Evansville will also square off against the Indy Fuel on Sunday in their final exhibition game.
