
Leos add two imports to defensive line

(Vancouver) The BC Lions Football Club officially announced today that import defensive linemen Rodney Allen and Melik Brown have signed with the team.
Allen appeared in 24 games over two seasons at Kansas ('05, '06) where he notched a total of 32 tackles, four sacks, and 10 tackles for a loss. Allen signed as an undrafted free agent with the Green Bay Packers in 2008 but was placed on injury reserve during training camp. Most recently, he played for the Odessa Roughnecks of the Indoor Football League where he recorded 23.5 total tackles (11.5 TFL) and seven sacks.
Brown spent four seasons at North Carolina (2002-06) and appeared in 41 games, compiling 64 total tackles, 2.5 sacks, three forced fumbles and 3.5 TFL. Brown spent the 2008 season as a linebacker with the Central Penn Piranha of the North American Football League following a season with the South Jersey Lynx. He holds the record for the longest scoring play in Piranha history - a 100-yard interception return for a touchdown.
