KEARNEY, Neb. - Tri-City Storm's General Manager and Head Coach Drew Schoneck announced Monday that Lenny Hofmann has been added as an assistant coach on the Storm coaching staff.

"We are extremely pleased to add Lenny to our staff and know that he'll complement Eric (Fink) and myself well throughout the season," said Schoneck. "He brings a lot of experience from the college ranks and will be a welcomed addition to the Storm family."

Hofmann, 30, spent the last two seasons working as an assistant coach for College of St. Scholastica, which is a NCAA Division III program in Duluth, Minn. Prior to working at St. Scholastica, he was an assistant coach at his alma mater St. Mary's University of Minnesota (Div. III) for four seasons.

"It's a great opportunity for a younger coach, like myself, to be a part of the USHL and the Tri-City Storm," said Hofmann, a St. Cloud, Minn. native. "The Storm are a first-class organization and have an outstanding reputation for doing things the right way. The coaches here did a great job with the team last year."

Hofmann, played in the USHL in the 1999-00 season for the Dubuque Fighting Saints before playing four years at St. Mary's. He had 36 goals and 97 points in 98 collegiate games and was an All-Conference player in the MIAC his senior year.

"I would like to thank Kirk Brooks (Storm Owner) and the whole organization for this opportunity and I look forward to working with Drew, fellow Assistant Coach Eric Fink, and the players this season," Hofmann added.
