Laredo Lemurs News Release

El Paso, TX - Laredo Lemurs (15-18) lead-off man Jimmy Mojica led the way as the Lemurs beat the El Paso Diablos (7-26) 13-8 on Friday night at Cohen Stadium in El Paso, TX.

Mojica was 3-for-5 with two doubles and single and a game-high four RBI. Stephen Pearson also had three hits for the Lemurs in four at bats, and picked up an RBI in the first. Javier Brito added two hits with a double and three RBI and Kevin Butler went two for four with three runs scored.

The Diablos answered Laredo's quick start and the two teams were tied at three after one but a five-run fourth inning and a three-run fifth gave the Lemurs plenty of cushion.

Lemurs starting pitcher Matt Way (4-2) earned the win despite allowing five runs on nine hits in six innings of work.

The Lemurs are now 2-11 on the road and look to better that record on the six game road trip that will take them through El Paso and Amarillo, both ballparks are known to be good for offense and tough on pitchers.

The Lemurs will be home to take on the Worcester Tornadoes on June 29 thru July 1. You can get tickets at the Laredo Lemurs box office, online at www.laredolemurs.com, or by phone at 956- 7LEMURS. All games at Uni-Trade Stadium are set for 7:30pm.
