
Lekkas Named USHL Goaltender of the Week

Sioux Falls, SD - The United States Hockey League has named Stefanos (Steff-ah-nose) Lekkas (Lek-IS) CCM Goaltender of the Week. The Elburn, Illinois native earns the honor after stopping 33 of 34 shots in a 2-1 victory at Fargo on Friday.
With the Stampede leading 2-1 into the third period, Lekkas stopped all 16 shots faced in the final frame to secure the victory for the Herd who were outshot 34-12 on the night. The win vaulted the Stampede into first place in the Western Conference with a 16-10-1 record at the unofficial end of the first half of the season.
The 5-foot-10, 175-pound netminder has won four straight starts and is now 10-5-1 with a 2.48 GAA and a .925 save percentage on the season. He has allowed just two goals over his last three starts for a 1.00 GAA and is 4-0-1 with a 1.64 GAA and a .952 save percentage in six appearances in December.
Last season, Lekkas led the Stampede to their second Clark Cup title in franchise history while going 23-14-3 with a 2.76 GAA and a .903 save percentage. He has already committed to play collegiate hockey at the University of Vermont next season.
