FRISCO, TX - The Texas Legends (4-0) added some fire power from Dallas to take down the Birmingham Squadron (2-2) in their second straight match 117-102. Led by the efforts of Mavericks assignee Moses Brown, Texas finished a weekend sweep Saturday night at the Comerica Center.
Texas took the lead early in the first and held on through the final buzzer. Holding a 21-point edge into the fourth, Texas extended the gap to 31 with eight minutes to play. Facing the largest deficit of the night fueled Birmingham who went on a 25-9 streak but were unable to close the gap in time.
Brown led the game in scoring (23), rebounds (16), and blocks (3) in his return to Frisco. Carlik Jones maintained his 20+ scoring streak adding 22 points, 6 rebounds, 8 assists, and 2 steals. Josh Green made his first appearance with the Legends on assignment from Dallas to power out 20 points, 6 rebounds, and 5 assists. Two-way players Eugene Omoruyi and JaQuori McLaughlin both neared double-doubles with 9 rebounds and 8 assists respectively while adding 15 points apiece.
Zylan Cheatham led the scoring efforts for Birmingham with 15 points, 9 rebounds while James Bank III came off the bench for 10 points, 10 rebounds. Jared Harper finished with 14 points, 5 boards, and Malcolm Hill totaled 13 points, 5 boards.
