Legends Snake-Bitten in Conference Semifinals

EDINBURG, TX - The Rio Grande Valley Vipers (25-10) advanced to the Western Conference Finals with a 120-103 victory over the Texas Legends (20-16).

The short-handed Legends found themselves behind early as RGV jumped to an 8-0 start. Midway through the first the Legends faced a 12-point deficit but streaked through 13 unanswered points to take their first and only lead of the night. The Vipers answered with a run of their own, finishing the first up 28-18.

The home team had built up a 27-point gap by the third, but the Legends continued to chip away, entering the final minutes down 67-85. Texas was hitting 50% in the fourth but the deficit proved too great.

Carlik Jones finished the night leading in scoring (36) and assists (14) while also grabbing 5 rebounds, 4 steals, and 2 blocks. Moses Wright tagged on 25 points, 7 rebounds, and Justin Jackson rounded out the double-digits with 15 points, 8 rebounds, and 4 assists.

Tyler Bey and Trevelin Queen added 25 points each and grabbed 12 and 7 rebounds respectively. Anthony Lamb also added a double-double finishing with 21 points, 11 rebounds, 6 assists, and 4 blocks, joined by Mfiondu Kabengele with 12 points, 15 rebounds.
