
Legends Open Caravan in Columbia Thursday

The Lexington Legends' annual caravan is ready to hit the road.
The Legends' pre-season caravan has five stops set, with others, including Lexington, to be announced soon. The events not only generate anticipation for the 2016 season, but also allow the Legends to show appreciation to fans and media throughout the region.
"It's still winter, but the Legends' caravan is a great reminder that spring is on the way," said Legends President/CEO Andy Shea. "We hope the fans will come out and help us celebrate the coming season and give us a chance to say thanks for all their support."
The schedule:
AT EACH STOP, the Legends will have items to give away, including tickets to a home game. The Legends' Big L or Pee Wee will be available for photographs, and live radio broadcasts will originate from each location.
Thursday, January 28 - Columbia
4:30 - 6 p.m. Central time at Anderson's Pizzeria,1411 Campbellsville Road. WAIN, 93.5 FM, will broadcast live from Anderson's.
Thursday, Feb. 4 - Cynthiana and Richmond
8-9 a.m. Biancke's Restaurant, 102 S. Main Street, Cynthiana. Legends' staffers will be guests on the Coffee Break program on WCYN-AM.
1:30-4 p.m., Powell Building, EKU campus, Richmond. WLFX 106.7 The Dog will broadcast live.
Tuesday, February 16 - Somerset
4-6 p.m. Alton Blakley Honda, 2490 South Hwy 27 Live broadcasts will be heard on iHeart Media Somerset radio stations.
Wednesday, February 17 - Jackson,
10 a.m. - noon, Rose Bros. Dept. Store, 695 Highway 15 N # 1. The WJSN (97.3 FM) Sportstalk show will be broadcast live from the store.
The Legends, a member of the South Atlantic League and a class A affiliate of the World Series champion Kansas City Royals, will open the season at home Thursday night, April 7 against the Lakewood Blue Claws, an affiliate of the Philadelphia Phillies.
The Legends will also serve as host for the South Atlantic League All-Star game June 21.
