DALLAS, TX - The Dallas Mavericks signed Texas Legends forward Jameel Warney to a 10-day contract, the team announced today.

Warney (6-8, 259, Stony Brook) has played 40 games with the Legends this season averaging 19.8 points, 9.6 rebounds, 2.9 assists, 1.2 steals, and 1.2 blocks per game, ranking in the top 10 in the league in both scoring average and rebounds per game. Warney joined Team USA in both the FIBA AmeriCup and FIBA Basketball World Cup Qualifiers earlier this season, leading the team to an undefeated, gold medal performance, earning MVP of the AmeriCup, and being named Team USA's 2017 Male Athlete of the Year.

Warney was the first player in Stony Brook men's basketball history to have his jersey retired and now becomes the first to reach the NBA. In four seasons with the Seawolves, the New Jersey native averaged 15.8 points, 9.4 rebounds, 1.6 assists, and 2.0 blocks and earned America East honors all four years.
