Legends' Comeback Falls Short in Osceola

OSCEOLA, FL - The Osceola Magic (1-2) took a 136-129 wire-to-wire victory over the Texas Legends (1-2) in their home opener Thursday night.

Texas got off to a slow start and faced a double-digit deficit within four minutes of play. The home team's lead grew quickly in the second quarter and the Legends went to the locker room down 51-74. The Magic matched their largest lead of the night (+28) with 5:40 left in the third but Texas responded with 12 straight.

Down 23 early in the fourth, Texas cut the difference to five with 1:40 to play, but Brandon Williams took advantage of a missed opportunity on the opposite end and hit a long jumper followed by two from the line to seal the game.

Justin Jackson led the Legends with 33 points, 6 rebounds, and 4 assists while AJ Lawson added 27 points, 7 rebounds, and 3 assists. Theo Pinson tallied his first double-double of the season with 21 points, 11 rebounds, 7 assists, and 4 steals off the bench. Greg Brown III and Dexter Dennis rounded out the double figures with 15 points, 5 rebounds for Brown and 14 points, 4 rebounds for Dennis.

Mac McClung finished with a game-high 35 points, 6 assists while Williams posted 28 points, 3 steals. Trevelin Queen added 21 points, 8 rebounds.
