After several stops around central and eastern Kentucky, with more to come, the Lexington Legends pre-season caravan will be at home for an event in Lexington Monday evening, February 22.

Special guests Anderson Miller, who in 2015 became the first Lexington native to play for the Legends, and Jeff Parrett, a 10-year major leaguer who played for Lafayette High School and the University of Kentucky, will join Legends staffers and Big L at A & W, 652 W. Main Street from 5:30 to 7 p.m. Monday.

Miller and Parrett will be available for autographs and photos, and fans can register to win free Legends tickets. The Legends' flagship station for all 140 games, ESPN Sports Radio 1300 WLXG, will broadcast live.

Miller, who also played at Lafayette before moving on to Western Kentucky University, was the third round draft pick in June of 2015 by the Legends' parent club, the World Series champion Kansas City Royals. After one game with the Arizona League Royals, Miller, a left-handed hitting outfielder, played in 10 games for Burlington of the Appalachian League, where he had 13 hits in 38 at bats (.342) with two homers and seven runs batted in. He was promoted to Lexington July 18, and in 43 games with the Legends, batted .260 (44 for 169), with eight doubles, one triple, two homers and 21 runs batted in.

Parrett, a right-handed pitcher, was selected by Milwaukee in the ninth round of the 1983 draft. He reached the majors in 1986 with Montreal, and had a 12-4 mark and a 2.65 earned run average with the Expos in 1988. He was 9-1 with a 3.02 ERA with Oakland in 1992. In 10 seasons, he had a career mark of 56-43, and saw postseason action with Oakland in 1992.

He also coached Woodford County High School to a state baseball championship in 2012.

The Legends open the season Thursday, April 7 at Whitaker Bank Ballpark against the Lakewood BlueClaws, an affiliate of the Philadelphia Phillies.

The Legends will also serve as host for the 2016 South Atlantic League All-Star game June 21.

"Caravan is a great opportunity for our fans to join us as we look forward to the 2016 season," said Legends President/CEO Andy Shea. "Having Anderson Miller and Jeff Parrett with us adds to the excitement. We appreciate their time, and look forward to seeing Legends fans Monday night."

Full-season, half-season and weekend ticket plans are available now. Individual game tickets will go on sale March 12.
