Texas Legends News Release
FRISCO, TX, (Dec. 18, 2013) - The Texas Legends, presented by Veracruz (visit Veracruz.mx), have announced a unique jersey night partnership with the American Heart Association (AHA) presented by Ryan, LLC. The Legends will celebrate AHA's Go Red for Women campaign with a specialty jersey night that aims to draw exposure and raise funds for the game-changing research the AHA does, as well as education related to preventive measures for healthy living and skillful response to those in crisis, such as CPR and AED.
American Heart Association was founded in 1924 by six cardiologists and has grown into the largest voluntary organization in America dedicated to fighting cardiovascular diseases and stroke.
Ryan is the presenting sponsor of Texas Legends Care, the Legends' 501c3 foundation. They are an award-winning tax services firm with the largest indirect and property tax practices in North America. The Firm ranked number six on the 25 best medium-size companies to work for in the United States, published in FORTUNE magazine, and was recently named to the 2013 Working Mothers 100 Best Companies list. The Ryan Foundation has contributed millions of dollars and countless hours of service to many organizations, including Susan G. Komen, March of Dimes, and the Make-A-Wish Foundation. Ryan is the official sponsor of American Heart Association night on Dec. 18.
The Legends will wear specialty jerseys celebrating American Heart Association, uniquely branded with both the Legends and Ryan logos. Select jerseys will be available via a silent auction during the game, with all proceeds going back to AHA. As part of the festivities of the night, select individuals from the organization will be recognized as "Legends of the Night."
"Ryan's success has resulted in substantial rewards for our associates, and I am proud of their generosity and willingness to give back to their communities," said G. Brint Ryan, Chairman and CEO of Ryan. "Our commitment to the health and wellness of our associates, their families, and our communities drives our ongoing support of the American Heart Association. On behalf of Ryan and our more than 9,000 premier clients across the globe, we are honored to sponsor this event and present a donation to the 'Go Red for Women' initiative."
The Legends face the New Jersey Nets affiliate at 7 pm on December 18. It will be the first matchup between the two teams this season.
