Lechan joins Tornadoes' front office

Wocester, MA - The Worcester Tornadoes are pleased to announce that Jeremy Lechan, the radio voice of the Worcester Tornadoes, has joined the team's front office in a full-time capacity.

Lechan, 25, was hired as the Tornadoes Director of Broadcasting in May, from the Connecticut Defenders (AA-Eastern League). He was the radio broadcaster for the Tornadoes 2006 campaign on the ballclub's five station radio network.

"We're very excited to have Jeremy with us year-round," said Tornadoes President and General Manager, RC Reuteman. "The Tornadoes organization was very pleased with the quality of the radio broadcasts last season, and we're equally happy to have Jeremy's contributions in the offseason as well."

"I'm thrilled to be back with the Tornadoes," said Lechan. "I'm looking forward to working with RC Reuteman, and the rest of the Tornadoes front office, to help contribute to the success of the Tornadoes in 2007. Lechan's offseason responsibilities will include sales, public relations and media relations duties. He will be back in the Tornadoes radio booth for the 2007 season, beginning with Opening Day in Quebec on May 24th.

Lechan earned his B.A. in History from Brandeis University in Waltham, MA, and received his Master's Degree in Broadcast Journalism from the Newhouse School of Public Communications at Syracuse University. Lechan, who began his third season with the Holy Cross basketball broadcast team on Friday, rejoined the Tornadoes on Monday, November 13th.
