Kalamazoo Wings News Release
Kalamazoo, MI- The Kalamazoo Wings, proud members of the United Hockey League, announce that Vice President/General Manager Paul L. Pickard was been named the UHL Governor of the Year.
The award marks the second straight season that Pickard has been named Governor of the Year (Formally Executive of the Year), which is selected by the UHL Board of Governors.
In four full seasons, as the K-Wings General Manager, Pickard has put together a team that has built a solid product on and off the ice. Under Pickard's direction the K-Wings have increased their attendance each of the past four seasons through a rise in season tickets, groups and corporate sales.
Also within the past three seasons, the K-Wings have become one of the top teams on the ice and the team is currently in the playoffs for the third straight year and is playing in the franchise's first UHL Colonial Cup Semi-Final.
Kalamazoo's "Destination: Colonial Cup" will continue this Wednesday, May 10th, as the K-Wings travel to Rockford MetroCentre for Game Four of the UHL Colonial Cup Semi-Finals against the IceHogs.
Fans can watch the game at the Icehouse Bar and Grille, which is located in the Upper Annex Viewing Arena inside of the Wings Stadium Complex. Face-Off from Rockford is scheduled for 8:30 p.m.
