Pensacola Ice Flyers News Release
PENSACOLA, Fla. (Aug. 20, 2015) - The Pensacola Ice Flyers and Head Coach Rod Aldoff announced today that left winger Nick Lazorko has re-signed with the team.
"It's great when you can bring a player the caliber of someone like Nick back for another season," stated Aldoff.
Lazorko, a native of Rockwall, Texas, will be beginning his third full professional season in October. He came to Pensacola via a trade with Huntsville last year. He began the season with Lindlövens IF in the Swedish third tier professional league and appeared in nine games putting up three goals, one assist, and four penalty minutes (PIM).
He returned to North America and joined the Huntsville Havoc where he played 16 games before being traded to Pensacola. In those 16 games, he scored seven goals, added nine assists, and had 19 PIM. In 38 games with the Ice Flyers, Lazorko had six goals, 12 assists, and 10 PIM as well as a +8 rating.
"I'm excited to start a fresh season here in Pensacola," Lazorko said. "There's an opportunity to do big things with this team and I'm extremely motivated."
"Nick has the ability to be an elite player in our league and that's what the team will need from him on the ice and in the locker room," Aldoff said. "He has a great attitude every day and I look forward to him having a great year."
Lazorko continued, "I was ready for hockey season to start as soon as it ended. We had an awesome group of guys inside the locker room last season but unfortunately fell short of a championship. I have a feeling this year will be different."
