Indiana Fever News Release

INDIANAPOLIS - On Sunday, June 14 when ESPN2 visits Bankers Life Fieldhouse for a nationally televised rematch of the 2014 WNBA Eastern Conference Finals between the Chicago Sky and Indiana Fever, the Fever will pay tribute to Lauren Hill, who touched millions of lives worldwide within the past two years during her fight with brain cancer. Hill's family, from Greendale, Ind., will be in attendance and The Cure Starts Now Foundation will be the beneficiary of donations from the Be YOUnique Fund of the Pacers Foundation, the Indiana Fever and fans. Tipoff is 1:00 p.m.

Hill recently succumbed to DIPG, a terminal brain cancer, after continuing to play basketball through weeks of radiation and chemo treatments. A 19-year old student at Mount St. Joseph University in Cincinnati, Hill passed away April 10 after being diagnosed with the disease just 17 months earlier. Her life was chronicled throughout the women's basketball and sports world as a symbol for courage, strength, determination and perseverance. Lauren challenged America to continue supporting research to fund a cure for DIPG and all cancers.

Hill was first honored by the franchise during an Indiana Pacers game last season, when she was proclaimed an honorary member of the Indiana Fever. Later, with Fever coaches and players in attendance last October in Cincinnati, Hill scored last season's first basket for Mount St. Joseph.

Next Sunday, Fever President and GM Kelly Krauskopf, Head Coach Stephanie White and star forward Tamika Catchings will welcome Lauren's family as honorary team captains for the day, as part of a pregame presentation. An Indiana Fever jersey with Hill's No. 22 will be placed on the Fever bench where it will remain in her honor throughout the game.

Throughout the afternoon, special in-game elements and tributes from Fever players will be viewed on the Bankers Life Fieldhouse videoboard, and the Be YOUnique Fund will donate $300 to The Cure Starts Now for every layup scored in the game, by both teams.

Before the game and through halftime, a silent auction will be conducted on the main concourse for donated items from the Indiana Pacers, the Indiana Fever and Fever players. All proceeds from this auction will benefit The Cure Starts Now.

After the game, fans are invited to shoot their own Layups for Lauren. Fans can shoot a layup and make voluntary donations to The Cure Starts Now.

The game is a Lucas Oil Family Game presented by IndyStar, and fans using this link - www.fevergroups.com/laurenhill (password: LAUREN) - can take advantage of Family Game savings with a portion of ticket proceeds benefitting The Cure Starts Now. Lower level tickets in this offer begin at $25, with each purchase receiving a voucher for a free Pepsi product, chips, hot dog and a Fever t-shirt. Club level seats in this offer are $15. Other ticket options are available at FeverBasketball.com.

A WNBA playoff participant in 10 straight seasons and 11 times since 2002, the Indiana Fever have reached at least the conference finals seven times in the past 10 years - including WNBA Finals appearances in 2009 and 2012. Just two seasons ago, Indiana capped the 2012 campaign as the champions of women's basketball, beating the Minnesota Lynx in the WNBA Finals. The Fever host their 2015 home opener on Saturday, June 6 against Minnesota (7:00 p.m.). For 2015 season ticket information, visit FeverBasketball.com or call (317) 917-2528.
