Late Arriving Offense Puts Nuts on Top 3-2

San Bernardino, CA. - Drew Weeks led the late charge to push the Modesto Nuts to a 3-2, eleven-inning win against the Inland Empire 66ers on Friday night at San Manuel Stadium.

With the Nuts (21-27; 47-71) down by two in the ninth, Drew Weeks smashed a one-out, game-tying, two-run shot. In the eleventh, Weeks ripped a double to start the innings against 66ers' reliever Zach Hartman (L, 0-2). Troy Stein drove him with a double off the centerfield wall.

Luis Niebla (S, 11/11) worked around two baserunners in the bottom of the eleventh to lock down the three-game series victory.

Parker French threw well in a no-decision. He worked seven frames and surrendered just one run while working around eight singles with the help of three double plays. French struck out five and walked one.

Jordan Ruxer and the 66ers staff shut the Nuts down early. Ruxer threw five shutout innings in his start for IE and stuck out five while allowing just two singles.

The Nuts' offense was held to just those two hits in the first eight innings but racked up three doubles and a home run from the ninth inning on.
