Las Vegas Gladiators News Release
Las Vegas Gladiators President/GM Sam Jankovich and Owner Jim Ferraro announced today they will not be renewing Head Coach Danton Bartos' contract at the end of the 2007 season.
"We have made this decision at this time in the best interest of Danton, his family, staff and players" said President/GM Sam Jankovich. "Now the organization must move forward which is essential when you make decisions like this. Notifying Danton at this time allows the Gladiators time to begin to identify potential candidates".
The Gladiators fell to 1-10 on the season after a 61-34 loss to the San Jose Sabercats on Saturday May 12th.
Gladiators Owner Jim Ferraro had this to say in regards to the decision, "Sam and I sat down and have evaluated the past 11 games and feel at this point in time, it is in the best interest of the organization not to renew Danton's contract. We wish him the best and look at this as an essential step in the success of this organization".
The Gladiators are ranked 19th in scoring offense, averaging only 44.6 points per game.
Barto will finish the season as Head Coach for the remaining five games and will continue with weekly practices.
Gladiators tickets are on sale now and can be purchased exclusively through the Orleans Arena box office or at www.orleansarena.com.
