Brockton Rox News Release

The Rox (27-24) took on the Navs (26-25) as both teams were fighting for playoff position. Coming into the game, both teams had the same record at 26-24, but behind Tommy Larason, The Rox edged the Navs in a pitchers duel.

After both teams went scoreless the first inning, Brockton jumped on the scoreboard in the 2nd inning when Eric Feliz doubles to right field and brought home Alex Perry.

The next inning, Brockton would tack on another when Jake Marotta started off the inning with a leadoff triple. Andreoli was put out after he hit a ground ball to first base, but it was enough to score Marotta.

The Rox would score a run for the third straight inning as they entered the bottom of the 4th. After a passed ball advanced Eric Feliz to third base, Dillon Cooper drove him home with an RBI-single to take a 3-0 lead.

Brockton's 3 run lead would stay the same until the 8th inning. Brockton added an insurance run before heading into the 9th when Ishmael Edwards advanced the third with 2 straight steals, and Alex Perry drove him home as he grounded into a 4-3 out.

The Navs would give Brockton a scare in the bottom of the 9th when they scored a run. But a double play silenced the Navs' bats and the Rox came out on top.

Tommy Larason made his first start with the Rox, and he drastically exceeded expectations, going 6 innings while striking up 5 and kept the Navs scoreless.

Brockton's next game is tomorrow as they travel to Pittsfield to take on the Suns (17-29). Their next home game is Friday against the Torrington Titans (30-18). First pitch is at 7:05. Come see the Rox in action and enjoy fireworks after the game!
