Laredo Lobos News Release

LAREDO, TX - The expansion Laredo Lobos of af2 announced today that the team has been assigned QB Daniel Forrest, DS LaRon Ragsdale and WR/DB Torey Prather by the league office.

Forrest spent the 2006 season with the Memphis Explorers where he was 3-0 as a back-up. Prior to joining the Explorers, he was invited to the Cleveland Browns Rookie Camp. He completed his college career at NAIA William Jewell College in Liberty, MO. where a senior, the 6-foot-2, 218 pound native of Houston, TX was 157 for 287 passing for 2228 yards and 20 TD. Prior to transferring to William Jewell, Forrest played at Division I-AA Sam Houston State in 2003 and before that at Trinity Valley Community College in Athens, TX.

Prather, a stand out receiver at North Texas, returns to his home state to continue his professional career which was cut short in 2005 by a hamstring injury while playing in San Diego.

Following a stellar career at Wisconsin Stevens-Point, Ragsdale caught Head Coach Mark Stoute's eye at a free agent work out in 2006 where the 6-foot-two, 205 pound DB showed great potential. A 3yr starter, Ragsdale returned to school to finish and graduate.

"Every year I am pleasantly surprised by the quality of players available and this year did not disappoint," Head Coach Mark Stoute said. "This threesome are as athletic as any available and have the potential to be game breakers which is exactly why we recruited them."

Season tickets for the inaugural 2007 Laredo Lobos season are now available as low as S112. Don't miss all the action of the "50-Yard Indoor War". For season ticket information call the Lobos office at 956-724-5626 or visit our web site at laredolobos.com.
