Lobos beef up pack

LAREDO, TX - The expansion Laredo Lobos of af2 announced today that the team has been assigned OL/DL Sabree Anderson, OL/DL Ranorris Ray and FB/LB Richard Sanders by the league office.

Ray, 6-foot-2 and 285 pounds, was a starting defensive lineman who has played both on the end and in the middle of the line for Texas Christian University. He became the starter on the left side after making 10 starts at the right defensive end as a junior. "Ranorris has good speed, extremely powerful hands and strong mental toughness," Head Coach Mark Stoute said. 'He brings intensity to the defensive line and is a great addition to our team." A Texas native son, Ray earned all-district honors at defensive end and tight end for William Howard Taft High in San Antonio.

Sanders, 6-foot and 255 pounds native of Miami, Florida, was a four starter who anchored the middle at linebacker for the Bulls. The oldest of two boys, Richard attended Coral High where he was All County and All State as a senior. "Richard is a physical presence who, along with his athletic ability, presents a great challenge for opposing offenses," said General Manager Roque Vela Jr.

Rounding out this threesome is Anderson, a 6-foot-three and 285 pound Cheyney State grad. "Sabree is a tremendously gifted player who has excelled on both sides of the ball during his pro career,' said Coach Stoute. "I expect that he will be a fan favorite and a leader on our team."

With the roster taking shape, the Lobos will hold two Texas area camps, College Station on Feb 25th, and at home in Laredo on Mar 3rd. "Football is about being in the right place at the right time and we want take a hard look at the Texas area talent that is available, said Head Coach Mark Stoute. "You never know when you will find the next impact player for your team and if reputation holds true, Texas is definitely the place to look."
