LAREDO, TX- The Laredo Bucks of the Central Hockey League take a look back at this week in Bucks history for the week of August 27-September 2.
August 30th, 2004- The Bucks announced the re-signing of 2004 CHL Rookie of the Year and Playoff MVP goalie David Guerrera. Guerrera posted spectacular numbers in 2003-04, his rookie season. He went 26-4-5 with a 2.10 GAA and a save percentage of 0.932 as he helped the Bucks to a CHL best 48-8-8 regular season record and the President's Cup playoff title.
In 2004-05 Guerrera went 17-12-2 in the regular season, with a 2.29 G.A.A, and a .912 save percentage while posting two shutouts. In the 2005 playoffs Guerrera went 6-3, with a 2.01 G.A.A and a .922 save percentage in helping the Bucks return to the CHL President's Cup Finals.
September 2, 2003- The Bucks announced the signings of two rookies Gabriel Proulx (pronounced: peru) and forward Aaron Winterholt.
In 2003-04 Proulx played in 49 games netting three goals, 10 assists, for 13 points, including two game-winning goals. In the 2004 playoffs handed out two assists in nine games, while helping the Bucks to the 2004 CHL President's Cup Championship.
Winterholt never suited up for the Bucks in 2003-04.
The Bucks are preparing for their sixth CHL season and will open training camp on October 8th. Laredo will open the 2007-08 season on a three-game road trip starting October 19th in New Mexico.
