Reno Bighorns News Release
BOISE, Idaho- Marcus Landry hit three clutch three-pointers down the stretch and Donald Sloan iced the game with two late free throws, propelling Reno to its fifth-straight win, a 105-103 victory over the Idaho Stampede on Saturday night in Qwest Arena.
The Bighorns (20-12) used a huge second quarter to take a 56-40 lead into halftime, but Idaho (10-19) would roar back after the break. In the third quarter, the Stampede outscored Reno 39-22 take a one-point lead into the final period.
The two teams traded punches in the fourth, with Idaho taking a 95-93 lead with 4:19 to play. But Landry took over from there, connecting on three-of-three shots from beyond the arc over the game's final three and a half minutes to keep the Bighorns close.
With the game tied at 103, Sloan was fouled on a potential game-winning three-point shot with 0.8 seconds remaining, sinking two-of-three free throws to give Reno a 105-103 lead. Lance Hurdle missed a last-second three-pointer, guaranteeing Reno its fifth-straight win.
Anthony Richardson led Reno with 20 points while Sloan added 17. Danny Green and Steve Novak chipped in with 16 points apiece, and Landry finished with 14 points, including 3-4 from beyond the arc.
