Fargo, ND - Austin Farley recorded a goal and three assists and Nate Arentz scored twice as the Fargo Force overwhelmed the Omaha Lancers 7-1 Friday evening in front of 3,569 fans at the Scheels Arena. The loss snapped Omaha's five-game winning streak overall and four-game road winning streak. Following the setback, the Lancers dipped to 14-9-2 overall this season but maintained sole possession of second place in the Western Conference with 30 standings points.

Fargo opened the scoring 13:49 into the first period when, while on the power play, Colton Hargrove spun a backhander from the left wing that pinballed off an Omaha skate atop the goal crease before rolling over the Lancers goal line. Farley and Taylor Richart assisted on Hargrove's third goal of the season, which marked just the ninth time in 24 games this season that the Force have scored the game's first goal. Fargo doubled its lead late in the opening period when Stanislav Dzahkov found Arentz alone atop the Omaha goal crease who made no mistake in one-timing in his third goal of the year. The five-on-five even strength marker came 18:16 into period one.

Fargo increased its lead to a 3-0 advantage 14:59 into the middle stanza when Farley created a takeaway in the offensive zone producing a two-on-one with Dzahkov that led to Dzahkov's second goal of the season. With the assist, Farley produced his team-leading ninth multi-point game of the season.

The Force then put the game away with four goals in the final period of regulation. Arentz earned his second of the game and fourth of the season 5:57 into the third period off a rebound from a Dzahkov wrister on the left wing. Then, Fargo stretched its lead to a 5-0 advantage with its second power play goal of the season 9:15 into the final period when Bryn Chyzyk shelfed his 12th goal of the season. Farley extended the lead less than three minutes later when a Lancers turnover on the power play produced Farley's team-leading 17th goal of the season and second shorthanded strike of the year. The Force capped their offensive explosion 17:10 into the final period when Dave Gust slammed in a backdoor tally from Gabe Guertler and Alex Iafallo. Omaha avoided the shutout in the final minute of regulation when Greg Gozzo was awarded a penalty shot which he converted for his 10th goal of the season.

Fargo's Zane Gothberg earned the victory in goal after 18 saves on 19 Lancers shots. With the win, Gothberg improved to 6-7-2 on the year and is now 2-1-1 head-to-head against the Lancers. Meanwhile, Alex Lyon suffered the loss in goal for Omaha after just 14 saves on 21 Force shots. The loss snapped Lyon's personal four-game winning streak and dropped the goaltender's overall record on the year to 10-7-2.

The Lancers are back in action tomorrow evening when they return to the Omaha Civic Auditorium for a 7:05 PM showdown with the Sioux Falls Stampede.
