Travis Novak and Chris Connolly each scored a goal and added an assist to lead the Lancer offense, and Drew Palmisano made several key saves, especially in the second period, as the Lancers stopped Ohio 6-2 for their fourth straight victory on Friday, October 19th.

Connolly opened the scoring for the Lancers with a power play goal in the first period at 12:35, taking a feed from the left side by Ben Arnt and Matt Thurber. It was Connolly's fourth goal of the season and his first power play goal.

Connolly later assisted on the next Lancer goal, as his bouncing shot toward the Ohio net was deflected in by Barry Almeida at 1:42 of the second period for Almeida's fourth goal of the year. Novak also assisted on the play.

The eventual game-winning goal for the Lancers later came from Joe Sova, whose shorthanded blast from the left circle whistled by Ohio goalie Corson Cramer unassisted at 13:03 of the middle period for a 3-0 Lancer lead.

Ohio scored a power play goal from Derek Roehl to make the second intermission score 3-1, Lancers.

Matt Leitner followed with another Ohio power play goal to cut the lead to 3-2 at 1:50 of the second period, before the Lancers finished off the night with a full-strength play from Novak, assisted by Drew Conboy and Will O'Neill at 2:24 of the final period for a 4-2 lead.

That was followed by Dakota Eveland's first goal as a Lancer at 11:13 of the third period, assisted by Keir Ross and Nico Sacchetti, and Aaron Lewadniuk's second goal of the season, helped by Joe Diamond at 19:08 of the frame.

The Lancers out shot Ohio 37-33 with both goaltenders making 31 saves. Palmisano ran his record to 3-0-0 with the victory, while Cramer's loss was his first in three decisions (2-1-0).

On the power play, the Lancers scored once in six tries and added a shorthanded goal. Ohio scored twice in six power play chances.

The shorthanded goal marked the third game the Lancers have scored a "shortie" out of the four games they have played.

The same teams play Saturday, October 20th at 6:30 PM (7:30 in Columbus). The game will be broadcast on News Talk 1420-KOTK with pre-game coverage at 6:15 PM. Coverage of the game will also be available on the B2 Networks at the same time.
