Sioux Falls used two second period goals to hold off the Lancers on Friday, November 24th at the Mid America Center, 4-3. The win went to the Stampede, despite a power play goal from Lancer forward Robby Dee, and defenseman Kier Ross' first USHL goal.

Pat Schafer opened the scoring for the Lancers with his third goal of the year, coming just over seven minutes into the first period of play. Drew Fisher tied the game at the 13:37 mark for Sioux Falls, as the first period ended with a 1-1 tie.

In the second period, the Lancers scored first again, as Dee's seventh goal of the year was also his fifth power play of the season, coming at 1:25 of the period. However, goals from Robbie Vrolyk and Zach Hansen gave the Stampede a 3-2 edge after forty minutes of play.

Ryan Guentzel's goal for Sioux Falls at 4:07 of the third period gave the Stampede a 4-2 advantage. Kier Ross answered for the Lancers with his first USHL tally at 15:39 of the final frame to get his team back within one goal at 4-3. However, despite a Sioux Falls power play and the Lancers pulling goaltender Scott Gudmandson for a sixth attacker, the Lancers could not get the tying goal in the final moments and the Stampede came away with its second win against Omaha is three games this season; its first at the Mid America Center in two visits.

The Lancers out shot Sioux Falls 32-25 for the game, including 16 shots taken in the first period of play. Each team scored once on the power play, but the Lancers were only 1-for-7 with the man advantage and the Stampede were 1-for-4. Omaha took 10 penalties for 31 minutes and Sioux Falls took 13 penalties for 37 minutes.

Jordan Tibbett took the loss in goal for the Lancers allowing four goals and making 13 saves. Matt Lundin was the winning goaltender for Sioux Falls, stopping 29 shots and allowing three goals.

The Lincoln Stars come to the Mid America Center for their second visit of the season on Saturday, November 25th.
