
Lancers F Murray Commits to St. Cloud State

OMAHA, NE - The Omaha Lancers of the United States Hockey League (USHL) are pleased to announce that forward Jimmy Murray has committed to St. Cloud State University and will join the Huskies in the Fall of 2011. A native of Darien, Illinois, Murray is in his first season with the Lancers and second in the USHL. The 5'7", 165-pound forward currently leads all Lancers and is tied for fourth among all USHL skaters in scoring with 23 points, which includes a league-best 18 assists. Murray has registered at least one point in 14 of 22 games this season and leads all Lancers with six multi-point outings this season.
The second-year USHLer spent last season with the Fargo Force where he tallied four goals and eight assists in 33 games. Murray was originally selected 27th overall (Round 2) by Fargo in the 2010 USHL Entry Draft.
Six other players currently on USHL rosters are already committed to St. Cloud State including F Jonny Brodzinski (FAR), F Ville Jarvelainen (GB), D Markus Lauridesen (GB), F Joona Manninen (MUS), F Ryan Papa (WAT) and D Ethan Prow (DM).
Omaha (11-8-2, 24 pts.) returns to action Friday evening when the Lancers begin their weekend road swing through the state of Michigan with a 7:05 EST PM showdown against the U.S. National Team Development Program.
