ANCHORAGE, Alaska -- The ECHL has recognized John Lammers as its Sher-wood Hockey Player of the Week for October 19-25. Shortly thereafter, the winger was loaned to the Manitoba Moose (AHL).

Lammers scored five goals and assisted on three others as Alaska split its four games last week, including a four-point (2g-2a) outburst in a 5-2 win at Las Vegas Friday. He also scored both goals in a 2-1 decision over Victoria October 19. At the time he signed a PTO with Manitoba, Lammers led the ECHL with six goals and was tied for the lead with linemate Colin Hemingway at nine points.

The Aces (4-2), who already have seen defenseman T.J. Fast and winger Anthonly Peluso called up to their AHL affiliate in Peoria this season, return to action this Friday, Saturday, and Sunday against 5-0 Idaho in an early season tussle for first place in the West Division. The first two games against the Steelheads will start at 7:15 p.m. AT, while Sunday's series finale begins at 5:05 p.m. and features the first postgame "Skate with the Aces," presented by Fred Meyer. All three games will be broadcast live on KFQD 750 AM.

Lammers actually played against Manitoba in last year's Calder Cup semi-finals as a member of the Houston Aeros. He had eight assists in 18 playoff games as Houston eventually fell in six games to the Moose, who went on to lose the Calder Cup Final in six to Hershey.
