
Lakeland Magic Defeat Mexico City Capitanes

The Lakeland Magic, NBA G League affiliate of the Orlando Magic, defeated the Mexico City Capitanes 103-98 at the RP Funding Center in Lakeland.
Orlando Magic two-way player, Ignas Brazdeikis, scored 10 first-quarter points to help the Magic take a 30-27 lead into the second. Brazdeikis kept the hot shooting going in quarter two, adding eight more points and finishing the half shooting 8-11 from the field as Lakeland extended the lead to five at the break.
The Magic started the second half on a 9-0 run, breaking open a 14-point lead. BJ Johnson, Lakeland's leading scorer this season, contributed 11 third-quarter points as the Magic looked firmly in control. Alfonzo McKinnie and the Capitanes attempted a fourth quarter comeback, but the Lakeland Magic held off the rally to grab their first win of the young season.
Brazdeikis posted a game-high 31 points, 5 rebounds and 5 assists. Hassani Gravett added 19 points, 11 rebounds and three assists. Johnson finished with 19 points and two rebounds.
McKinnie finished with 29 points and seven rebounds. Matt Mooney had 17 points, five rebounds and three assists. Jordan Howard added 14 points, two rebounds and three assists.
