Vermont Lake Monsters News Release
LOWELL, MA --- The New York-Penn League game between the Vermont Lake Monsters and Lowell Spinners on Tuesday night was cancelled due to rain at LeLecheur Park. The game was suppose to be the final meeting of the 2010 season between the two teams and will not be rescheduled.
The cancellation means that the Lake Monsters are now scheduled to play 74 games this season instead of 76, having lost Tuesday's game at Lowell and also a August 9th game vs. Batavia at historic Centennial Field. The rain out was also the second in three days for Vermont, which was rained out against Brooklyn at Centennial on Sunday and had Saturday's night game suspended with the Cyclones leading 8-7 in the bottom of the 12th inning.
Vermont (31-28) returns home for its final three regular-season games of the season at Centennial Field beginning on Wednesday at 7:05 pm with the first of a three-game series against the Connecticut Tigers. Wednesday is "Hot Dog Heaven" with hot dogs costing just 25 cents all night. The series will continue on Thursday at 7:05 pm and the Lake Monsters final regular-season home game will be Friday starting at 7:05 pm.
