Lowell Spinners News Release
LOWELL, MA - Mother Nature finally got the best of the Lowell Spinners as the steady presence of wet, cold weather forced the team to cancel their August 24 game against the Vermont Lake Monsters. The two teams do not play again this summer and the game will not be made-up.
The night's scheduled appearance by Glen "Big Baby" Davis as part of the Celtics night has been postponed and the night's regularly scheduled "Free Electronics Giveaway," presented by Sal's Pizza, has been re-scheduled for Saturday, August 28.
Any fan holding a ticket for the Spinners August 24 game may exchange that ticket in person for a ticket of equal or lesser value to any remaining 2010 home game, based on availability. If a fan receives a ticket of lesser value, the fan will receive the difference back in Spinners Dollars. Under no circumstances will tickets for the August 24 game be exchanged straight-up for Spinners Dollars.
For example: If the fan had a $9 ticket and exchanged it for a $6 seat then the fan will receive an additional $3 back in Spinners Dollars. Spinners Dollars can be used at concession and merchandise stands and will expire on December 31 of this year.
Lowell concludes the home season with a six-game homestand beginning Saturday, August 28 with three games against the Staten Island Yankees followed by a three-game set with the Tri-City Valley Cats, Aug. 31-Sept. 2.
The Spinners ticket office is open Monday - Friday from 10 a.m. - 4 p.m. in person or by phone at 978-459-1702.
Notes: 2010 Boston Red Sox No. 1 Draft Pick Kolbrin Vitek was promoted to the Greenville Drive (Low-A) following the rain out. Vitek will join the team on their scheduled off-day Wednesday before playing in Greenville Thursday night against Ashville.
