
Lake County Captains Charities Baseball Classic Slate Set For April 17-18

(Eastlake, OH) - The Lake County Captains, the Class A affiliate of the Cleveland Indians, has announced the line-up for the Fifth Annual News-Herald Captains Charities High School Baseball Classic for 2009. Seven Lake County schools and one Cuyahoga County school will be featured in four games over two days at Classic Park. The event raises funds for Captains Charities, Inc., the charitable arm of the Lake County Captains organization, as well as the participating schools.
This year's event is scheduled for Friday, April 17 and Saturday, April 18. On Friday, Euclid will play Wickliffe in a game at 4PM, followed by the nightcap featuring the Eastlake North Rangers taking on the Madison Blue Streaks at 7PM. On Saturday the Perry Pirates will take on Kirtland at 1PM and the Painesville Riverside Beavers will play the Mentor Cardinals at 4PM.
Tickets for the event will be just $6 each and will be available for purchase at each of the participating schools, in person through the Captains Ticket Office during normal business hours, or by calling 440-954-WINS (9467). Daily tickets are good for both games each day.
"This has become one of the signature events here at Classic Park each year," said Captains Vice President and General Manager Brad Seymour. "We are excited to work with each of these local schools and be able to offer this opportunity for these teams to play at this great facility and at the same time raise funds for the schools."
Captains' full season tickets plans, 12, 20, and 35-game mini ticket plans are on sale now for the 2009 Captains season which opens on April 9. Individual game tickets will go on sale on March 14 at 9 AM. For ticket information, please contact the Ticket Office at 440-954-WINS.
The Lake County Captains are a Class A affiliate of the Cleveland Indians and play their home games at Classic Park in Eastlake, at the corners of State Route 91 and Vine Street. The regular season home opener is scheduled for April 9th versus the Hagerstown Suns, the Class A affiliate for the Washington Nationals.
