LA Galaxy Play Host to LAFC at Rose Bowl Stadium Tonight, Tuesday, July 4

LOS ANGELES - Continuing their 2023 MLS Regular Season campaign, the LA Galaxy play host to LAFC in the 20th edition of El Tráfico at Rose Bowl Stadium tonight, Tuesday, July 4 (7:30 p.m. PT; Free on MLS Season Pass on Apple TV, LA Galaxy Radio, LA Galaxy Spanish Radio). Tonight's match between the LA Galaxy and LAFC is expected to break the all-time MLS attendance record set on March 5, 2022, when the Galaxy squared off against Charlotte FC before 74,479 fans at Bank of America Stadium.

Tonight's Fourth of July match between the LA Galaxy and LAFC marks the 20th edition across all competitions of El Tráfico, with the Galaxy leading the all-time series 8-6-5. Against LAFC, the LA Galaxy hold a 6-4-5 record in league play, a 2-0-0 record in the U.S. Open Cup and a 0-2-0 record in the Audi MLS Cup Playoffs. In the last meeting between the two clubs, the Galaxy earned a 2-0 shutout victory over LAFC at BMO Stadium in the U.S. Open Cup Round of 16 on May 23, with Tyler Boyd and Riqui Puig both scoring in the win against LAFC. In the first meeting between the LA Galaxy and LAFC in league play this season, the Galaxy fell 3-2 to LAFC at Dignity Health Sports Park on April 16, with Boyd and Mark Delgado both scoring in the match. In 10 all-time home matches played across all competitions against LAFC, the Galaxy hold a record of 7-1-2 (23 GF, 14 GA). In 19 matches played between the LA Galaxy (42 GF) and LAFC (40 GF) across all competitions, El Tráfico averages 4.3 goals per game.

In their first-ever MLS regular-season match at the Rose Bowl Stadium, the LA Galaxy earned a 2-1 win over the New York/New Jersey MetroStars on April 13, 1996, with Cobi Jones scoring the first-ever MLS goal at the venue. In 107 all-time regular-season and playoff games played at Rose Bowl Stadium, the Galaxy hold a combined record of 86-32-9 record (.713 win percentage). Tonight's Fourth of July match marks the 27th MLS regular-season match held on July 4 at home for the Galaxy, with LA holding a 14-7-5 record on games played on Independence Day. In last season's Fourth of July match, the Galaxy earned a 4-0 win over CF Montréal at Dignity Health Sports Park, with Dejan Joveljić scoring a penalty-kick goal and Efraín Álvarez and Daniel Aguirre both tallying assists in the victory on July 4, 2022.
