
LA Galaxy II Sign Midfielder Julian Buscher

LOS ANGELES - LA Galaxy II have signed German midfielder Julian Büscher, the club announced today. The former D.C. United midfielder joins Los Dos after spending two seasons in MLS.
"Julian is an experienced young professional that adds immediate leadership and quality to the group in our central midfield," said LA Galaxy II Head Coach Mike Muñoz. "He understands what it takes to compete at this level and I look forward to integrating him into our project. We are excited to have Julian with LA Galaxy II this year."
Büscher, 24, made 27 appearances for D.C United in his two seasons there, recording one goal and four assists. In addition, he made 10 appearances while on loan for Rochester Rhinos in 2017. He made his MLS debut in against LA Galaxy, in the team's 2016 home opener at StubHub Center. He was selected by D.C. United as a Generation adidas player with the 11th pick in the 2016 MLS SuperDraft.
Spending the 2018 preseason training with LA Galaxy, Büscher appeared in the team's friendlies against Real Salt Lake, Fresno FC and San Jose Earthquakes.
Büscher, of Dolmen, Germany, was drafted out of Syracuse, where he played for two years from 2014-15. During his time at Syracuse, he was named to ACC All-Freshman Team (2014) and All-ACC First Team (2015).
Prior to moving to the United States, Büscher was a member of the VfL Bochum and SC PreuÃen Münster academies. Internationally, he's featured for the U-16 and U-18 German Youth National teams.
With one week remaining until the season opener, Büscher joins midfielder Geoffrey Acheampong, defender Nate Shultz, defender John Requejo, goalkeeper Wade Hamilton, and midfielder Emmanuel Appiah as the club's newest signings. Büscher and LA Galaxy II will kick off the 2018 season Saturday, March 17 against Colorado Springs Switchbacks FC at Weidner Field in Colorado Springs, Colo. (5 p.m. PT, streamed live on LAGalaxy.com/2).
Los Dos will host their 2018 Home Opener on Saturday, March 31 against San Antonio FC at StubHub Center (3:30 p.m. PT). Tickets to that match are available for purchase here.
