CINCINNATI, OH - FC Cincinnati Head Coach Alan Koch has selected defender Dekel Keinan to wear the captain's band for the 2018 campaign.
"Dekel has come into preseason and earned the respect of our entire group through his actions," commented Koch. "He has the necessary verbal skills to lead the group and is truly a man of action. His willingness to work for the team is on display every day. He will wear the armband for the team but will also have a great group of veteran leadership around him this season. We are fortunate to have a leader of his experience leading our team into battle this season."
Keinan is in his first season wearing the orange and blue but the seasoned veteran has had a storied career, playing for both the Israeli and English Premier Leagues. The 34-year old has collected 27 caps with the Israeli Senior National Team, anchoring the backline from 2007-13.
During FCC's preseason, Keinan scored two goals, tucking away one goal apiece against NKU and Sacramento Republic SC.
FCC begins the USL season this Sat., Mar. 17 at Charleston Battery with kickoff set for 7:00 p.m. The match will be broadcast on Star64 with Tom Gelehrter and Kevin McCloskey calling the action.
