LA GALAXY POSTGAME QUOTES

LA GALAXY HEAD COACH GREG VANNEY

On playing at Lumen Field:

"It's a tough field to play on. It's really slows the game down. It's really kind of soft and spongy, so it just sucks the energy out of the legs and out of the game and I think it's tough for both teams. I think that's part of the reason it's 0-0 and neither team had many good chances. Just when you try to speed up and accelerate the game, the field has a way of slowing it down on you, that goes favor to the defending team in those types of situations. We defended 12 corners today and didn't give up anything. They got their heads on a couple, but nothing that (was) really super threatening. Again, tough place to play against a good team and we manage the game and we managed it getting a zero. We'll take it. Take our point and keep moving."

On players, including Martín Cáceres and Mark Delgado, being unavailable:

"With Mark, a health and safety decision for his purposes. Martín he got an injection midweek, and just never really kind of got in enough training to feel comfortable with where he was at. [Emiro] Garces... he trained yesterday. We brought him along, we had Eriq [Zavaleta] along, so we didn't need to push Martín, give him a chance to try to feel better and get to the right spot. And we know Dejan [Joveljić] who hopefully will be back into next week that's our hope and we'll get him ready and Riqui was suspension. We had a few more guys out than we were anticipating in the grand scheme of things, but the group that was here, did a fantastic job of just coming together and working together and getting something out of the game."

On Jalen Neal's first start:

"I thought he played well, I think getting in the rhythm again, competing against different types of forwards and seeing different scenarios getting 90 minutes under his belt. I thought he had a solid game . There were a couple challenges that I'd like him to win and get things that don't end up on the other side of him. But we can nitpick for a while, but I think as far as not having played 90 minutes in probably nine ten months, I think it's a good start for him. He got a zero out of it and he won some important balls in the air, he won some important duels. If this is the spot that we're building from, then I think it's a great spot for him.

LA GALAXY GOALKEEPER JOHN MCCARTHY

On getting the result on the road:

"We had the next-man-up mentality. I think a really good group that were prepared to come on the road. I think we have some good depth on our squad and the next man up is really there for this team. I think we have a good group. Coming on the road, it's never easy. And it doesn't matter where you go. And if you're (going to) come and play on turf. It was a little more wet in the first half, which was nice and then dried out a little bit, so it always gets tougher to play on turf. You take it. You take a point on the road. I think that goes a long way in the season. If you go grab some points on the road."

On Jalen Neal's return:

"Jalen was great tonight. I think he cut out three or four crosses that could have been almost been a tap-in one of the Seattle guys. He was great in his defensive effort and good on the ball. He's a young guy that has a big and good mentality to be able to step in and play for us. So, I'm happy he got back on the field. I think I think everyone was pretty happy for him. It's nice to have him back, so hopefully you keep things rolling and hopefully, he stays healthy."

On the team's performance through this point in the season:

"I think we're just a good all-around group. Like I said, there's the next-man-up mentality and we got some depth on our squad. We got some great starters on our squad. I think whatever is said off the field shouldn't affect us. We have to worry about ourselves, how we play and how the Galaxy should be. And the club has a lot of history and you always want to step out and perform well for a big club. I think that's what we're trying to do, our best to represent the club."
