Stefan Frei recorded his third shutout of the season and 108th of his MLS career - four shy of second in league history - as the Rave Green earned a home point in the first of three matches this week. Brian Schmetzer's side now begins its 2024 Lamar Hunt U.S. Open Cup campaign on Wednesday, May 8 against Louisville City FC at Starfire Stadium (7:30 p.m. PT / USOpenCup.com, 950 KJR AM), before traveling south to face archrival Portland Timbers on Sunday, May 12 at Providence Park (1:30 p.m. PT / Apple TV, FOX, 950 KJR AM, El Rey 1360 AM).
MATCH NOTES
Sounders FC now sits 11th in the Western Conference with 10 points (2-5-4), level on points with Portland but holding the goal differential tiebreaker.

Since joining MLS in 2009, Sounders FC has faced the LA Galaxy more times (46) than any other opponent in regular season and postseason play.
Stefan Frei recorded his third shutout of the season and 108th cleansheet of his MLS career, four short of Kevin Hartman for second in league history.
Reed Baker-Whiting made his first appearance of 2024 after missing an extended period of time due to a hamstring injury suffered last fall.
