May 9, 2022 - Major League Soccer (MLS)
LA Galaxy News Release
LOS ANGELES - The LA Galaxy today announced programming around the club's first theme night of the 2022 campaign, '90s Night, when the club plays host to FC Dallas, in a match presented by Platinum 7X Vodka, at Dignity Health Sports Park at 7:30 p.m. PT on Saturday, May 14 (Spectrum SportsNet, LAGalaxy.com). The Galaxy have sold out the first four home matches at Dignity Health Sports Park to begin the season, averaging 25,549 fans per match.
In celebration of '90s Night, Galaxy players will wear adidas '90s Night warm-up tops that will be auctioned off through the LA Galaxy Foundation after the match, with a portion of the proceeds benefitting The Harmony Project. The Harmony Project harnesses the transformative power of music to increase access to higher education for underserved students by removing systemic barriers to achievement through academic and social support. Twizzle, the Galaxy's first mascot, will make an appearance alongside Cozmo during the match against FC Dallas. As part of the stadium experience on '90s Night, fans will experience visuals and music that will take them back into the '90s with a West Coast hip-hop flair.
The Galaxy Team Store will feature new merchandise specifically for '90s Night. Fans can purchase a limited-edition LA Originals Tee or a '96 'Til Forever sweatshirt on which the club collaborated with LA's Hometown Clothing. Both items will be available at the LA Galaxy Team Store on gameday. Additionally, the Community Kit Hook Collection features an assortment of t-shirts and pullovers that plays off the Community Kit colors and features the quasar mark.
A limited number of tickets for the May 14 match are still available at www.lagalaxy.com/tickets. The May 14 game is trending to be the LA Galaxy's fifth consecutive home sell-out of the 2022 MLS Regular Season. The Galaxy enter the match against Dallas coming off a 1-0 shutout win on the road against Austin FC on May 8. In seven matches played across all competitions dating back to April 3, LA holds a record of 5-1-1, outscoring its opponents 8-3 during that span. Notably, LA (6-3-1, 19 points) ranks third in the Supporters' Shield race behind only LAFC (7-1-2, 23 points) and Austin FC (6-2-2, 20 points).
