LA Galaxy Academy Announce 2023 Domestic and International Competition Tournament Schedule

LOS ANGELES - The LA Galaxy Academy today announced its 2023 domestic and international competition tournament schedule.

"We're excited to announce the international and domestic travel competition schedule for the LA Galaxy Academy," said LA Galaxy Head Coach and Sporting Director Greg Vanney. "These events provide our athletes with elite competition while exposing them to new environments and cultures for their personal and professional development. We believe these experiences help broaden the education and accelerate the development of players in our pathway."

The U-15 and U-17 LA Galaxy Academy teams will participate in the upcoming 2023 Generation adidas Cup in Bradenton, Fla., from April 1-9. The U-17 Galaxy Academy will square off against FC Cincinnati on Saturday, April 1 (1:30 p.m. PT), go up against the Colorado Rapids on Sunday, April 2 (11:30 a.m. PT) before closing out the group stage against Brazilian side Palmeiras on Monday, April 3 (1:30 p.m. PT). The U-15 Galaxy Academy will square off against Belgian side KRC Genk on Saturday, April 1 (8:30 a.m. PT), face off against Vancouver Whitecaps FC on Sunday, April 2 (8:30 a.m. PT) before closing out the group stage against Chicago Fire FC on Monday, April 3 (8:30 a.m. PT).

The U-12 Galaxy Academy will embark on a trip to Tokyo, Japan from March 29-April 6 to participate in the 2023 Tokyo Nations Cup, featuring international competition such as Sporting Clube de Portugal (Portugal), Oxford City FC (England), JFS Köln (Germany), the Nepal U-12 National Team and teams from Japan.

From May 25-30, the U-17 Galaxy Academy will travel to France to compete in the 25th U-17 International Football Tournament. International teams competing in the tournament include RB Leipzig (Germany), Fluminense FC (Brazil), FC Copenhagen (Denmark), Real Sociedad (Spain), SL Benfica (Portugal), RSC Anderlecht (Belgium) and more.

The U-13 Galaxy Academy will travel to Austria from June 13-18 to participate in SETG Cup 2023. On Friday, June 16, the Galaxy U-13s will face off against Ajax Amsterdam, before going up against VFB Stuttgart (Germany), Dynamo Kiev (Ukraine) and ACF Fiorentina (Italy). On Saturday, June 17, the Galaxy U-13s will take on SV Seekirchen 1945 (Austria) before going up against Red Bull Fußballakademie (Austria). For more information on the tournament, click here.

The U-14 Galaxy Academy will travel to Portugal from Nov. 3-5 to compete in the Portimão International Cup. For more information on the Portimão International Cup, click here. The LA Galaxy Academy's U-17s, U-15s, U-14s and U-13s age groups compete in MLS NEXT, the premier youth competition in North America. Additionally, the 2022-23 MLS NEXT calendar will feature four premier events: MLS NEXT Fest, Generation adidas Cup, MLS NEXT Flex and MLS NEXT Cup Playoffs. The MLS NEXT All-Star Game presented by Allstate will be part of MLS All-Star Week in Washington, DC.
