Los Angeles Avengers News Release
As you will see in the attached release, the Los Angeles Avengers (4-8) will host the defending ArenaBowl champion San Jose SaberCats (8-5) on Saturday, May 31, at STAPLES Center.
The game will kick off at 7:30 p.m. (PT).
Radio coverage will be provided on AM 570 KLAC, Sirius Satellite Radio (Chan. 130) and in Spanish on KWKU 1220 AM.
*** Also on Saturday, May 31, PADRES Contra El Cáncer and the Los Angeles Avengers will host the inaugural "Stand for HOPE! 5K Charity Run/Walk" at the Los Angeles Memorial Coliseum to raise money in support of children with cancer and their families. Scheduled to participate in the pre-race events, including a press conference and morning warm-ups, will be PADRES national spokespersons Eva Longoria Parker, star of ABC's "Desperate Housewives," and Fernando Del Rincón of Univision's "Primer Impacto," along with other celebrities.
The press conference will run from 7 a.m. to 7:45 a.m. The 5K Run/Walk will start at 8 a.m.

PADRES Contra El Cáncer provides benefits to families whose children are undergoing treatment for cancer at Childrens Hospital Los Angeles (CHLA), Childrens Hospital Orange County (CHOC) and other southern California pediatric cancer centers. More than 400 people are expected to take part in the 5K Run/Walk. Participants will include pediatric cancer patients and their families, CHLA doctors and nurses, PADRES Contra El Cáncer staff and volunteers, and special celebrity guests. The 5K Run/Walk will conclude with an awards presentation. The celebration also includes a sponsor village with live music and other activities.
