Kuboushek Named Sales Executive Of The Year

LEXINGTON, KY -- Harold Craw from the Charleston RiverDogs and Luke Kuboushek of the Lexington Legends were selected as co-winners of the Sales Executive of the Year Award, the South Atlantic League and President Eric Krupa announced Monday.
"We would not have done what we did in 2008 if it were not for Luke's presence in this company," Legends general manager Andy Shea said. "It's as simple as that."
Kuboushek joined the Legends in 2006 as a Group Sales Representative before being promoted last year. Kuboushek just completed his first season as Assistant General Manager for the Lexington Legends, a position he's held since his promotion in November of 2007.
"He's an extraordinary salesman and sales manager, but he also helps our club in so many other ways," Shea described. "Everyone else who has won this award is strictly a salesperson. Luke, on the other hand, has operational and administrative duties that probably consume half of his time, making this award that much more special for him and this company. We're all proud of him."
2008 was Kuboushek's second in Lexington and tenth in Minor League Baseball. During his tenure, Kuboushek has worked stints with the Iowa Cubs, Michigan Battle Cats, the Battle Creek Yankees and the Southwest Michigan Devil Rays.
The formal award ceremony will be on October 7th at the South Atlantic League Fall Meetings in Charleston, WV. All 16 teams, along with the umpires, participated in the voting for these awards; which ranged from on field to front office accolades.
Kuboushek is the third Lexington Legend front office staff member to receive special recognition in 2008. Legends general manager Andy Shea was appointed to the Junior Achievement Board and received the Rising Star Award as one of the top 20 under 40 in the city. Additionally, Legends President Alan Stein was recently appointed to Governor Steve Beshear's Governor's Scholar Program Board of Directors.
