"We are excited about adding Kristen to our roster. She has a great understanding of the game and is one of the better three point shooters in the league," said Taylor. "Kristen will add solid veteran leadership and a strong work ethic to the mix. She played well during last year's playoffs and is committed to helping our Mystics team compete for a playoff spot in 2009."
Mann was selected in the first round (11th overall) of the 2005 WNBA draft by the Minnesota Lynx. "Kristen brings a number of attributes to our team, including experience, the ability to stretch the defense with her three point shot, a very high basketball IQ, and a competitive work ethic," said Head Coach Julie Plank. "She is a player that can knock down open shots, so I am looking forward to adding her to our nucleus, as we continue to make improvements to our Mystics team."
