Ontario Reign News Release
ONTARIO, Calif. - The Ontario Reign, proud affiliate of the NHL Los Angeles Kings, announced today that they have re-signed center Tim Kraus to a standard player contract for the 2010 - 2011 season.
Kraus, 23, started his professional career in 2008 with the Reign, splitting a three-way tie for the team high of 48 points scored in the regular season and leading the team in assists with 33 during his rookie year and Ontario's inaugural season. In two seasons with the Reign, the center, a Canyon Lake, California native, has accumulated 101 points (31g, 70a) and 146 penalty minutes in 143 games with the club. Kraus led the Reign in assists with 37 and recorded 53 points, the second highest on the team, in the 2009 - 2010 season.
"Ontario is the best place to play in the ECHL," said Kraus. "We have the best fans." Other than location and fan base, Kraus cited several factors in his decision to stay in Ontario for a third season.
"I'm from Southern California and I've had two good seasons there. I love playing for (Reign head coach) Karl (Taylor)," said Kraus in an interview from Washington, where he is spending part of the off-season. "I was pretty bummed that we didn't make the playoffs last year and I want to redeem myself."
